Safeguarding Policies
Heart of the Redeemer Covenant Community is committed to a safe environment for minors in all programs and events. We’ve summarized the most important safeguards and how to report concerns below, and we’ve linked the full policies for details.
Report a concern (how to act fast):
If anyone is in immediate danger, call 911.
Report suspected or known child abuse within 24 hours to civil authorities (you can report directly):
Missouri Child Abuse & Neglect Hotline: 1-800-392-3738
Adult Abuse & Neglect Hotline: 1-800-392-0210
Kansas City Police Department: 816-581-0700 (or 911)
Notify our Child Safeguarding Officers so we can protect the child, cooperate with authorities, and follow internal protocols. (Names listed in Part 1.)
What we practice (at a glance):
Zero tolerance for abuse and a clear, annual policy review.
Rule of Three: at least two approved adults present with minors (or one adult with two minors).
Clear boundaries for contact (what’s appropriate vs. not) to keep affection public and appropriate.
One-on-one mentoring safeguards (visible, pre-approved, known to parents/supervisors).
Careful use of technology & social media; group channels only, with supervisors included.
Transportation protocols (permissions, supervision, no unauthorized stops).
Background checks & annual training (e.g., VIRTUS and Missouri mandated-reporter training).
