The Heart of the Redeemer is a community of disciples on mission.
We are called to live, work and strive, by the power of the Holy Spirit,
so that others might have true life in Christ, now and forever.

About Us

We are named Heart of the Redeemer Covenant Community – and are located in the Kansas City metro area. The seeds of covenant community in Kansas City began to sprout as early as 2008, and the first Fan Into Flame retreat happened in the fall of 2009. It was from this retreat that a vision of shared community life began to take shape.

With much help and generosity from the Community of Christ the Redeemer over the years, we have grown today to be a community of 40 covenant members, 30 brothers and sisters in formation, and over 90 children in our youth program! We are grateful to have recently entered an affiliate commitment with the Sword of the Spirit and look forward to what the Lord has for us in this season!

Our Relationship with the Sword of the Spirit

Heart of the Redeemer is a member of the Sword of the Spirit — a worldwide community of Christian communities working together to follow Jesus and share the Gospel.

Each community in the Sword of the Spirit is self-governing, but we choose to live a shared way of life and to collaborate in mission and service. The association is made up of regions around the world, each supported by councils of men and women leaders who serve together in a spirit of unity and collaboration.

We belong to the North American Region, joining with other communities in our area to grow in faith, strengthen family life, and work together for the renewal of the Church.
